Over-the-road and on-site operational considerations
Once your vehicle leaves its parking spot, a new host of protocols will kick in . Make sure
you can answer these before you hit the road:

• Have you checked your driver’s license for expiration date, restrictions or penalty
points?

• Is a driver medical exam required and have they completed one?

• What are the legal and insurance implications of crossing state, provincial or national
borders?

• Do you have adequate comprehensive insurance coverage for total loss or loss of use
of your vehicle?

• Have done a legal compliance scan for HIPPA, local ordinances or bylaws, State or
Provincial requirements or, in the U.S. and Canada any federal approvals related to the
care modalities you are delivering?

• How will you track time for hourly employees?

• Are there union limitations you must consider?
