Commercial driver’s license (CDL) or Class 1 lincense: An advanced license required to
           operate large and specialized vehicles, like mobile health vehicles . If you’re hiring a driver or
           sourcing volunteers to drive your mobile health vehicle, be sure to list the CDL requirement in the
           job description .

           Content review board: An oversight committee that checks all program messaging, documen-
           tation and collateral for professionalism, cultural and generational sensitivity and consistency

           Contingency planning: Preparing for unexpected events that may occur in the daily and long-
           term operation of your program . Contingency planning is a key part of your risk analysis and
           should be completed as soon as possible .

           Cross-training: Training multiple employees or volunteers to fulfill other roles or perform func-
           tions outside of their stated duties. When done correctly, cross-training can maximize the effi-
           ciency and effectiveness of your team.

           Cultural competency:  Your organization’s ability to understand and interpret the languages,
           customs and cultures of the communities you serve . Strong cultural competency will help you
           build trust, establish rapport and provide better care to those in your community .

           Ethernet network switch: A device that connects multiple machines to a computer network .
           You’ll need an Ethernet switch if you intend to have several computers accessing the internet
           from your mobile health vehicle .

           Executive Summary: A one- to two-page overview of your business plan . An executive sum-
           mary allows a reader to see the key points of your proposal quickly, without viewing the entire
           document .

           Federally qualified health center (FQHC): A community healthcare provider supplying primary
           care to underserved populations. FQHCs typically receive higher Medicare reimbursements, but
           must meet quality-of-care requirements and offer services on a sliding scale. Mobile healthcare
           programs that do not operate under an FQHC parent organization may be reimbursed at a lower
           rate .


           Governance and oversight: The monitoring and enforcement of an organization’s policies and
           procedures . You’ll need a team of stakeholders from multiple disciplines to ensure your program
           adheres to and follows your parent organization’s procedures correctly .


           Gross vehicle rate weighting (GVWR): The maximum operating weight of a vehicle or trailer as
           specified by the manufacturer. Exceeding a vehicle’s GVWR can cause damage or even create
           health hazards for passengers .


           Implementation plan: The tasks you’ll need to complete to launch your mobile healthcare pro-
           gram . Your implementation plan should include steps for policy and procedure development,
           staffing, vehicle design and code compliance, vehicle and equipment maintenance, content and
           communication guidelines, billing and payment, and over-the-road and on-site considerations .
