Job Description for Membership and Operations Associate
Reports to: Senior Manager of Membership Recruitment and Retention

Location(s): Remote position requiring travel for in-person meetings, regional functions, and annual conferences
Status: Exempt (Salaried)
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Salary Range: $33,000 - $43,000
Summary
We are currently seeking a Membership and Operations Associate to support our growing and dynamic community. Under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Membership Recruitment and Retention, the Membership and Operations Associate is responsible for implementing specific policies and procedures, programmatic priorities, and related operational activities that support the Association’s growth and retention function. The position is also expected to collaborate with other members of the Association’s team to plan, design, and implement data-informed strategies to support a growing, diverse membership over time.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies.
- Coordinate the onboarding process to create positive first experiences.
- Assist with ongoing outreach efforts to support member retention and engagement.
- Support the efficient and responsive membership renewal process.
- Research membership leads, invite potential organizational members, and manage lead tracking.
- Work with the Senior Manager of Membership Recruitment and Retention to analyze membership trends and provide data-informed recommendations.
- Work with the Senior Manager of Membership Recruitment and Retention to manage and maintain the annual conference registration process and other conference duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain events-based information within MC Trade to support the Programming and Technical Assistance team.
- Collaborate with the Programming team on logistics for regional coalitions, special interest group meetings, and webinars, as needed.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a commitment to positive member engagement.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications, Zoom, and Google Suite Applications.
- Experience in database management (CMS), payment processing systems, Cvent, and Asana preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, documentation, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work effectively with interdepartmental teams and independently.
Education and Professional Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Proven experience in membership services or administrative roles within a membership-based association or non-profit organization preferred but not required.
