We’re proud to announce that Mobile HealthCare Association has been selected as a 2025 Beyond Barriers Innovation Grant recipient by Beyond Type 1! This exciting recognition includes funding support for organizations delivering creative, mobile-first solutions to increase access to high-quality diabetes care in underrepresented communities.

The Beyond Barriers program is fueling the next wave of diabetes education, early detection, and equitable care through mobile health innovations. Mobile Healthcare Association is honored to be part of that movement.

“Organizations like Mobile Healthcare Association play a vital role in advancing health equity by reaching people where they are, especially those in underrepresented and overlooked communities. Supporting their work means helping close the gap in access to quality care for those who need it most.”
Mariana Gómez, Social Impact and Global Advocacy Division at Beyond Type 1

Driving Change Through Mobile & Community-Based Solutions

This Innovation Grant will allow Mobile Healthcare Association to expand its educational programming and deepen advocacy efforts that support the mobile healthcare providers working on the frontlines of diabetes care. Whether it’s a mobile clinic parked in a rural community or a peer-led educational event in an urban neighborhood, our mission remains the same: to break down barriers and meet people where they are.

From advancing early detection of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, to providing self-care tools and support resources in real-time, our members are delivering real change—on the ground, in communities, every day.

“This grant from Beyond Type 1 is a powerful affirmation of the work we’re doing on the ground. It will allow us to broaden our reach, enhance diabetes education in underserved areas, and ultimately change lives. We’re honored to be part of this movement toward more just and accessible healthcare.”
Elizabeth Wallace, Executive Director, Mobile HealthCare Association

Celebrating Our Community

We’re also thrilled to celebrate two of our incredible members—Morehouse School of Medicine’s H.E.A.L. Clinic and Mobile CARE Chicago—who were also named 2025 Innovation Grant recipients. Their dedication to health equity through mobile and community-based healthcare exemplifies the very spirit of Beyond Barriers, and we’re proud to be in such inspiring company.

Together, we are creating new pathways to diabetes education, care, and support for communities that have too often been left behind.

Stay Tuned for What’s Next

This is only the beginning. With support from Beyond Type 1, Mobile Healthcare Association will launch new initiatives in 2025 aimed at improving access to diabetes care, and equipping our members to do what they do best—bring life-saving care directly to the people who need it most.

We’re grateful for this partnership, and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.
