In this dynamic, solutions- driven workshop, participants will explore the transformative power of mobile food markets -Innovative community-based solutions that bring fresh, affordable, and culturally appropriate food directly to neighborhoods where access is limited or nonexistent. We’ll begin by examining the core concept of mobile markets: what they are, how they function, and why they’ve become essential tools in combating food insecurity across urban, suburban, and rural landscapes. The workshop will center on the populations the markets are designed to serve-including residents of food deserts, the working poor, and the unhoused – with a strong emphasis on equity, dignity, and community empowerment.
