Strengthening & Sustaining Mobile Healthcare Grant Program

 

 

1. Does the application save as we work on it, or does it have to be completed all at once?
A. Yes, there is an option to save your application before submitting it.
2. If we are not yet registered as a member of Mobile Healthcare Association but intend to do so before the grant deadline, are we still eligible to apply?
A. Yes. To be eligible for the grant, you must be a Mobile Healthcare Association member. There is an annual fee of $299 for your organization to be an active member. To join: Click Here
3. What types of programs are eligible to apply?
A. Applicants must have non-profit status or a fiscal sponsor affiliated with a nonprofit organization, or state or county agency. Mobile healthcare programs can provide any type of services, (i.e.: prevention, dental, pediatric, clinical, vision, general practice) but must serve marginalized or underrepresented populations in the U.S. or Canada. Eligible applicants must be:
i. Mobile Healthcare Association member in good standing.
ii. Program currently operating a mobile program.
iii. Program in operation for at least one year as of 10/1/2024.
iv. Non-profit organization with 501C (3) status or state or county agency.
4. How will the funds be distributed?
A. You will receive two-thirds (2/3) of the funds, once the grant letter is signed and the financial information is received. This portion of the funds will be sent no later than December 9. Once your project is complete and deliverables are received, we will send the last 1/3 of the payment within 30 days.
5. What is the scoring/review criteria? How will you determine the winners?
A. Each application is unique. The expert panel will review each application based on their eligibility, proposed project description, and the proposed budget.
6. Will priority be given to larger organizations/institutions?
A. No. All size organizations are considered equally.
7. What do you mean by developing a monitoring and evaluation plan?
A. Below are ways you can think about this topic:
i. Develop a collection, analysis, and reporting system
ii. Staff training to execute a plan
iii. What do you want to know more about your program and how do you go about collecting that data.
iv. Optimizing resources, ensuring limited resources are used efficiently to maximize health outcomes.
v. Collect evidence of value to stakeholders, secure funding and support, and enable continuous adaptation to community needs.
8. If there are residual funds, may we use them for mobile program operations?
A. Funds will go toward the project budget submitted during the application process.
9. Does the project need to be completed by April 30, 2025, or just the funds spent to create it?
A. The funds should be fully used, and the project completed no later than April 30, 2025.
10. Can a portion of the requested funds be used for general operating costs?
A. The funds are restricted to the budget you submit with your grant application with a maximum of 10% overhead allowed.
11. If we are not yet registered as a member but intend to do so before the grant deadline, are we still eligible to apply?
A. Yes.
12. Where will I upload my work?
A. Grantees will be given specific upload instructions.

14. Are indirect costs allowed in the budget?
A. There can be up to 10% max in indirect costs.
15. Can awardees use funds to help cover staff or consultant costs related to developing the program monitoring and evaluation plan?
A. Yes. Funds can be used for staff or consultant time related to the program.
16. Is conference attendance/presentation required? May we include any conference fees or travel in our budget?
A. Conference attendance/presentation is not required. You cannot include conference fees and travel in your budget.
17. Is social media exposure of the program required?
A. It is not required.
18. To confirm, the specific program we are applying for must have been operational since 10/1/23 or earlier.
A. Yes. Programs must be in operation for at least one year as of 10/1/2024.
19. Is there a specific type of program that the data evaluation plan needs to relate to – for example, could a harm reduction program that uses a mobile health van qualify?
A. There is not a specific program. Harm reduction would qualify.
20. Is there a character limit in the application?
A. The brief description of your program has to be 500 words or less and a 1500-word or less overview of your proposal.
