SUMMARY:Disaster Preparedness for Mobile Health Clinics
DESCRIPTION:Mobile healthcare programs are essential lifelines during disasters\, particularly in underserved communities where access to care is already limited. This Masterclass equips mobile healthcare leaders and staff with the tools and strategies to prepare their programs for effective emergency response. Participants will learn how to build strong partnerships with public health and emergency management agencies\, ensure vehicle and equipment readiness\, and secure critical supplies in advance of crises. The session also emphasizes staff training through disaster simulations\, role-specific protocols\, and preparedness planning. In addition\, attendees will explore funding opportunities and grant support to strengthen program resilience. By focusing on proactive planning and readiness\, Part 1 lays the foundation for seamless integration into emergency response systems when disasters strike. \nLearning Objectives: \nBy the end of this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify and initiate Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and partnership agreements with local and state emergency response agencies.\nEvaluate vehicle and equipment readiness\, including fuel strategies\, maintenance planning\, and power backup solutions for field operations.\nEstablish inventory management strategies to ensure the availability of critical supplies and medications during emergencies.\nDesign and implement staff preparedness training\, including disaster response simulations and role-specific protocols.\nNavigate available funding sources and apply for emergency preparedness grants or support at the local\, state\, or federal level.

SUMMARY:Disaster Response for Mobile Health Clinics
DESCRIPTION:Once disaster strikes\, mobile clinics must be able to respond quickly\, safely\, and effectively to meet community needs. This Masterclass focuses on the operational aspects of disaster response\, from activation protocols and deployment logistics to patient care under crisis conditions. Participants will practice applying field-tested tools such as deployment checklists\, triage workflows\, and documentation strategies that comply with regulatory requirements. The training also addresses team coordination and communication\, both internally among staff and externally with the public and partner agencies. Special attention is given to protecting staff well-being during prolonged deployments and planning for the transition from response to recovery through debriefing\, evaluation\, and continuity planning. Building on preparedness strategies\, this session ensures mobile health programs are fully equipped to deliver care when it matters most. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nDescribe activation protocols and identify key decision points that initiate mobile health emergency deployment.\nUtilize deployment checklists and logistical planning tools to rapidly mobilize\, navigate\, and set up mobile clinic operations in affected areas.\nApply best practices for field operations\, including triage\, patient care\, referral coordination\, and compliant documentation under crisis conditions.\nImplement internal communication strategies for team coordination and external messaging for public information during emergencies.\nRecognize and address staff safety concerns\, fatigue\, and psychological impacts during extended emergency deployments.\nPlan for transition from response to recovery by establishing record-keeping procedures\, debriefing staff\, and conducting post-event evaluations.
